Ms. D’s Southern Cuisine
Precious, right? Ms. D’s is cute on the inside as well. Only two women (either or both could have been Ms. D) were working, one at the counter and one in the kitchen. They handled the lunch rush really swimmingly and apologized unnecessarily for our brief wait.
The burger was a very good deal (despite the unflattering photo, sorry bout that)–around $2.75 and I had no complaints. I’m not sure they offer the option, but I would have asked for it medium rare if I’d managed to think of it. Regardless, the medium-ish that I ended up with was still juicy and savory and absolutely worth more than $3.
There was also some southern cuisine. A meat + 2 veg + bread goes for $6.50; the day we went, they had an assortment of staples, including fried catfish, smoked and fried chicken, neck bones, cabbage, field peas, and green beans. I intend to try something southern next time, but a good burger for under $3 is going to be hard to resist.
