Goodbye, Jackson!

After a year, I feel like I haven’t had nearly enough time to explore Jackson—there are still dozens of restaurants on my places-to-try list! But I’ll be starting a new job in D.C. soon, so this is my last day in Mississippi. Thanks to everyone who reads and comments for being so welcoming, and for helping make this blog so much fun!
The good news is that Carpe Jackson isn’t going to die when I move. A few awesome friends of the blog have offered to keep posting, and I’ll continue running the Restaurant Openings Report. Of course, I’ll also be reading, commenting, and managing things from afar, and hope to do a couple more posts as well. So keep in touch!

Sorry to see you go, but there’s a whole lot more to explore in DC. Actually, does this mean you’ll start a Carpe DC?

Have fun in DC! I have enjoyed keeping up with the Jackson food scene from afar.

Really enjoyed your reviews, especially the places that are off the beaten path. Thank you. Good luck.

Thanks for everything- it took someone from somewhere else to turn up things in my own backyard! Best of luck to you!

D.C. has some great restaurants. I’m dying to go to Rasika. And a Jacksonian, Ann Cashion, owns Johnny’s Half Shell. Read Tom Sietsema’s blog in the Washington Post on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. for the latest D.C. restaurant news.

You will be missed. My list of lunch spots has been growing since I found your blog.
Best of luck in DC.

Good luck on your new job, moving, and exploring a whole new city full of restaurants!

Thanks a lot for doing this blog. I’ve been in Jackson for about a year, and was in desperate need for restaurant suggestions. Your blog more than delivered, and there are still so many places you’ve reviewed that I still haven’t tried. Good luck in D.C., and hooray for new Carpe Jackson bloggers taking over!

Hey,
I will miss reading your stuff. I hope you get to come back soon. If you can grab lunch one day. Email me and we’ll go to one of my favorite places.
Great job with the new restaurant report.
Happy Eating!
