Thanks a lot for doing this blog. I’ve been in Jackson for about a year, and was in desperate need for restaurant suggestions. Your blog more than delivered, and there are still so many places you’ve reviewed that I still haven’t tried. Good luck in D.C., and hooray for new Carpe Jackson bloggers taking over!

I live on Mcdowell road which is littered with bland, run of the mill food establishments. They offer entrees that are probably as equally unhealthy but not as delicious. Stepping into Tom’s Fried Pies is deep fried culinary nirvana. I don’t know what I like better - their pies or the staff preparing the pies. Both are equally warm and tasty. My goal has been to eat everything they offer on the menu. I’ve so far had the blackberry pie. It tasted better than my husband’s kisses. I’m planning on taking my family here when they visit from Illinois soon I’m hoping they will become addicted so they don’t move back. Thanks Tom, you’re one of a kind.
